What shall we then say to these things?
If God be for us, who can be against us?”
- Romans 8:31 (KJV)

With my children, we have been reading about Joshua’s great victories in the book entitled, “Bible Battles” by Lettice Bell and Jessica Erskine. The main thing that we have learned through reading about these battles is that when Joshua waited on God, he was victorious; when he did not wait upon God, his attempt was a terrible failure.
It is the same for us today. Although we do not have to fight the same battles as Joshua, we still have struggles in our lives. When we pray and wait on an answer before proceeding through something, we can know that God is with us. But, when we try to figure it out on our own, we may find that our “battle” has become even more difficult to deal with.
God will be with us if we ask Him to be and if we wait for Him. When God is with us, we can face our struggles bravely and know that God is in control. Although everything may not go as WE thought it should, God knows better what we need and will make sure that His will happens. He will make sure we have the victories that He intended… when we trust in Him and wait for Him.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for giving us the stories of Joshua’s battles. Through these stories, we can know how important it is to wait for You! Please help us to pray and wait for you when we face our battles in life. Help us to remember the miraculous victories Joshua had when he waited for you and when he obeyed you. Always help us to remember that when you are with us, there are none that can stand against us.
In Jesus Name,
Amen.
