Quiet Caring

Husbands and wives often find it difficult to find ways to express their love and caring for each other on a daily basis. We can express in words how much we love one another, but as the old saying says, “Actions speak louder than words.” So, what can be DONE, rather than SAID to show our spouses that we love them? The answer lies in quietly looking for a need and then meeting the need.

This can be something as simple as noticing that his favorite slacks need a visit to the cleaners, which you drop off on your way into town, and then pick up in a few days, without him asking. Another way to “show” your love is to take quick inventory of his personal supplies before you leave to go to the store. Check his shampoo, cologne, shaving cream, contact lens solution, etc. before you leave and if there is anything that he is running low on, go ahead and buy it and have it in the cabinet for when he needs it. Making his favorite meals is an additional route to his heart. By knowing him well enough to know his likes and dislikes, you can let him know you love him by preparing meals that he will like.

Just a little time each day is all it takes to make your husband feel special. When he notices the things that you quietly do for him, he will know that you are wanting to take good care of. Caring for him in these ways will let him know, ever so quietly, just how much you truly do love him. And by doing so, there is a good chance he may follow your lead and return his love, in quiet and caring ways, to you!
