Making New Friends

Making new friends can be so hard when you are a child. Although children seem to make new friends much quicker then adults do. But when you have a child with a disability, deformation, or any other learning problem it makes it that much harder for our children to make friends.

With Haylee I have been very fortunate that so far she really does not have any trouble making friends. She is very quick to go up and introduce herself and join in on the playing. I do notice if I am around shes does seem to be a little bit more shy at first.

Here are some of the thing I have done to help Haylee not be so shy and make more friends:

  • Go to school with Haylee on the first day of school and introduce her to the class and talk about her little hand and let the children ask question
  • Teach Haylee that she is special and that she should not hide her little hand but instead show it to the world
  • Teach Haylee that not everyone understands why she has a little hand so we have to educate them
  • Had Haylee start a blog so that she could meet other children much like her
  • DO NOT TREAT HER ANY DIFFERENT THEN OUR OTHER CHILDREN
  • Love her because God has Give Me a Very precious gift to take care of for him

These are just a Few of the things that I have done to make this world just a little bit easier on Haylee.  I believe what I have taught her has helped her so much. She is such an outgoing, smart, bright, wonderful, caring person and Just wants to Share her love for God with Everyone Else.
