Why We Love Crocs

So as many of you know we are madly in love with crocs.  But not because of the same reasons that average person is.  Have you ever gone into a croc store and really looked around?  First if you have not you have to go do it and plan to send half they day there madly in love with everything you see.  But it is not because of all the pretty colors and different styles.

It is because Crocs slip on.  And for us that is awesome.  Because with one hand, tying your shoes is very hard.  With crocs they have so many different styles of shoes that we can find slip on shoes for just about all seasons.

Crocs not only had 10 fingered kids in mind when they created crocs but they also had our kids with special needs in mind.  They make it so easy for our kids to still be stylish but also be able to slip on these shoes and go.

Haylee loves this because she does not have to ask her teachers or friends at school to help her lace her shoes up.

So the next time you go to buy a awesome pair of shoes.. remember who makes buying shoes super easy.. CROCS…..

Just Dance Summer Party on Wii ~ Super Fun

We recently had the opportunity to review  Just Dance Summer Party on Wii.  And I have to be honest at first I was like well the kids should have fun, but was not too sure how much fun my husband and I would have.  My husband and I don’t always have the best time on the wii when it comes to dancing.

But Just Dance Summer Party on Wii totally changed that for me.  We had the most fun amazing time with this game.  First my favorite part was it was all songs that I totally knew and were appropiate for the whole family.

Second they have a super fun part where you interact with the other dancer and dance together at parts.  We laughed and had so much fun that when we had family over the next day we all got in on dancing and shaking our stuff.

This is one game I would recommend for everyone to get.  The young and the old.  And it is even better for us because with  my daughter only having one hand it did not require the numchuck so she was able to have even more fun because she was not worried about how she was going to hold both controllers.

Two of my favorite songs were:

Barbie Girl and Funkytown

If you are looking for a  great family friendly Wii game for the whole family to have fun with I would totally suggest Just Dance Summer Party on Wii.

Webkinz Jr. Party

We were recently fortunate enough to be able to host our first ever Webkinz Jr. Mommy Party…. And I have to be honest.  At first I was a little nervous about hosting a Mommy Party because I had never done this before.  But I have to tell you it went off without a hitch and the kids were begging me to have another one…

We had an amazing time creating crafts, playing games and having snacks.

Each of the kids left with their own Webkinz Jr., a coloring book, a CD, two crafts they created, a wonderful bag that they were able to put everything into and much more.

We started out the party with a couple ice breaker games just to get the kids juices flowing and to get them excited about meeting their Webkinz Jr.’s.  Then during snack time we introduced the kids to the online world of Webkinz Jr. and had some awesome cookies shaped like the Webkinz Animals.

The kids were so excited to meet their Webkinz Jr. that once I started passing them out they were laughing and screaming and playing..

We ended the party creating a Friendship bracelet for themselves and their Webkinz Jr. and than we sent supplies home to make their own paper bag puppets.

One of my favorite things about Webkinz Jr. is how safe it is for my daughter to play games and interact with other children online.

If you want to find out more about Webkinz Jr. Take this awesome tour that will have your children begging for a Webkinz Jr. by the time they are done watching the tour.

Sorry there are not more pictures to share but I had so much fun at the party that I completely forgot to take pictures.

Tackling Those Little Things

There are so many things I could be doing or could be tackling but I just can’t ever seem to find where I have misplaces all those hours in the day I keep loosing.  I could be tackling the house, or my office, or reading or…… You get the picture.  There is just so much to do and so little time.

I am a bit backward than most people.  A lot of people I know tackle the big things and then work their way down to the smaller things.  But not me and not today.  I have set aside my complete afternoon to tackle something very near and dear to my heart.  This site.

I have been revamping this site for some time now and just when I think I am getting close to being done then something comes up and I just leave the site.  So I literally blocked out all this afternoon to finish up the site and I am not going to let anything get in the way of it.

Here are my list of things I will be tackling today:

  1. Finish Footer
  2. Move subscribe newsletter box
  3. contact people about guest blogging
  4. add more people to blogroll
  5. comment on 10 sites
  6. Get new social media icons
  7. connect my blog to facebook
  8. connect my tweets to facebook
  9. connect twitter to my blog
  10. And I am sure there is more I will find as I continue working.

What are you going to be tackling today?  Does not matter large or small I would love to hear what you are tackling!

Sad Little Monkey

I received the saddest call tonight.  My little Haylee is spending a month with her Aunt and Uncle and cousins.  And she has been gone for a little less then a week now and tonight she called me to tell me good night and she loves me.  Just like we do every night before she goes to bed.  Then I talked to my sister in law for a while and everything was fine.

I came down to the office to get some more things done and could hear the home phone ringing off the hook.  Normally I don’t answer it.. (yah yah)  But I text my SIL and asked if it was her calling.  She said it is a Sad little Haylee.

SO Haylee called me and was crying.  I MISS YOU MOM.  Oh it was so hard not to cry myself.  I miss the girl like crazy.  We spend so much time together.  Since Dad works second it is just Haylee and I at night so we pretty much do everything together.  And now she is on the other end of the phone telling me how much she loves me and misses me and wants to come home… OH JUST STOP.. I wanted to jump in the car and drive down to get her.

But I help my cool and did not cry.  I could hear in her voice just how tired she was.  So I told her if she still felt that way on Friday, Mom and Dad would come and get her Saturday.  But I can almost promise you that things will change and she will not be ready to come home.

It just tears at my heart strings to hear my  baby cry and not be there to hold her in my arms and make the tears go away.

What a Summer

Tie My Shoes????

shoe-tieSo how old where you when you learned to tie your shoes?  I don’t remember how old I was but I know I was not yet in school.  But now I have a better question for you and I want you to go try it.  Go try and tie your shoes with one hand.  HA HA HA.  Got you.  Much harder done then said right.  Well I was over reading My Best Friend’s blog and her son Bug is  also struggles tying his shoes.

So just because we have one hand, two hands or no hands does not mean we can all tie shoes the same.  Nan did an amazing blog post with a video that I want to share with you.

Sometimes things can be so difficult for little Bug.  We’ve tried for months to teach little Bug how to lace a shoe with a cardboard cutout, lacing cards even tennis shoes but with no luck.  This summer Bug took OT and his instructor loaned us a teaching tool that made all the difference in the world. He learned to lace his shoe in 3 days. Yes, can you believe it, 3 days! I was blown away and he was so proud of himself.  We are still working on the bow tying but we got half of it down so we are both so proud.  Just look at him go.

That is just a snippet.  If you want to read the whole thing and watch Bug tie his shoes and My BFF help her son then head on over to A Mom Blog and check it out.  She even gives the link to that amazing shoe that helped Bug learn to tie his shoes.  OH and….

WAY TO GO BUG!  WE ARE SUPER PROUD OF YOU.

Dealing With The Hand God Dealt Us

ss850390While playing cards with the family the other night I sat there and stared at Haylee. I thought to myself man she handles everything God has dealt her with such amazing pride, awesomeness, and I am just in total awwww of her. God dealt Haylee a hand that includes no fingers on the left hand. But Haylee never see’s it as she was dealt an unfair. She never thinks she was short changed. She smiles and loves the hand she was dealt with.

How is it that a 7 year old can totally handle the cards she was dealt by God but as an adult there are days that I feel like I can not even handle the project I was handed much less anything else? Children and adults handle things different. But you also have to realize that our children handle things they way they do because of how we raise and teach them. To teach them that God will give us what He knows we can handle. And no matter how bad it may seem God will never give us more then we can handle. God gives us certain things because that is part of his big plan for us.

How do you and your kids handle the cards that God has dealt you?
